Peaceful Acres Resort is conveniently located just a few miles north of downtown Ludington, and just a few miles south of the main entrance to the Ludington State Park.
Discover Downtown Ludington
Ludington is a friendly, small-town community filled with specialty shops, dozens of restaurants and pubs. Many festivals take place throughout the year in downtown Ludington, along with outdoor concerts, craft fairs, Friday Night Live, and Movies in the Park.
Parks and Beaches
There are several parks in downtown Ludington, including the Stearns Park Beach, home to an expansive picnic area with tables and grills, a beautiful beach, the North Breakwater Lighthouse, shuffle board court, a skate park, concessions, Jaycees Mini Golf, and playground. Also in downtown Ludington, you can enjoy the Waterfront Park which boasts beautiful scenery, prime carferry viewing, a wonderful playground, a pavilion for outdoor events, and the Sculpture Trail.
Ludington State Park
Our resort is the closest lodging to the main Ludington State Park entrance on M-116, so you will be just a few minutes away from miles of hiking, biking, and canoe trails. The Ludington State Park is recognized as the #1 state park in the Midwest…for good reason! In addition to beautiful natural scenery, the Ludington State Park is home to a handicapped accessible dam, a lazy river for tubing and canoeing, beach concessions on both Hamlin Lake and Lake Michigan, miles of beaches to explore, the Big Sable Point Lighthouse, and much more.
Boating & Fishing
Your vacation just wouldn’t be complete without exploring Hamlin Lake by boat. The lake is much larger than you might think–over 5,000 acres of water! Hamlin Lake has an Upper and Lower lake along with many bayous to discover. Ancor your boat near the shore and climb the sand dunes to the north, or dock your boat at the Ludington State Park to hike the trails or have a picnic.
Tours
You can learn about the history of the area at Historic White Pine Village, then follow the Barn Quilt Trail, Lumber Heritage Trail, and Agricultural Trail.
